With terrorism such a global issue, it is imperative that young people are informed on the issue and able to discuss it freely. However, SINCE 9/11 recognises that terrorism can be a difficult subject to discuss. Our expert facilitators are available to help stimulate discussion and debate with the ‘Talking Terrorism’ assembly. Details below:
This is a standalone assembly which can be tailored for students in KS3, KS4, and KS5. It can be delivered in a 30-minute assembly by reducing the depth of coverage, or extended to a 60-minute assembly by allowing students more time to discuss and feedback.
Students will be presented with a range of information about terrorism, addressing questions such as:- What is terrorism? Who is classified as a terrorist and why? Why do young people become extremists? How do countries deal with terrorism? How do we respond to terrorism as individuals? What happened on September 11th, 2001? What were the consequences of the terrorist attacks which took place on September 11th, 2001?
